Woman bitten by snake at Gold Coast home

A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital after being bitten by a snake at a home on the Gold Coast.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was bitten on the ankle by the slithering serpent at a house in Varsity Lakes.

Queensland Ambulance crews were called to the scene just before 9.00pm last night.


The woman was treated by paramedics before being taken “light and sirens” to the Gold Coast University Hospital, a QAS spokesperson confirmed.

It’s not known what type of snake bit the woman.

She’s is understood to be in a stable condition.
