Woman bitten by snake on Gold Coast
A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital after being bitten by a snake on the Gold Coast this morning.
Emergency services rushed to a Lydford Close property at Bonogin around 9am following reports of a snake bite.
On arrival, paramedics found the 48-year-old woman had suffered a bite to her foot.
The woman does know what kind of snake bit her, but told emergency services that she has spotted red-bellied black snakes and brown snakes on her property before.
She has been taken to Gold Coast Robina Hospital in a stable condition.
The snake bite is the second in just one week, with a man bitten on the leg by a suspected brown snake at a popular Surfers Paradise beach just last Friday.
Gold Coasters are being urged to be aware of snakes out and about as the weather starts to warm up.
