A bowls club employee has been tied up by two men during a terrifying armed robbery in the Hunter region.
About 10.30pm on Monday, two men jumped out of a stolen car armed with a shortened firearm and sledge hammer.
Police say the pair forced their way into a bowls club and tied up a worker’s hands and feet with duct tape.

They then ransacked the club before taking off with cash.
The woman was freed by responding police officers.
Following investigations, police yesterday arrested a 35-year-old man at Jesmond.
He was taken to Newcastle Police Station where he was charged with armed robbery, damage property by fire, larceny, and drive while disqualified.
Investigations into the robbery are ongoing.
