A woman has been caught driving more than six times the legal alcohol limit after crashing her car into a tree in the Illawarra.
Police were alerted after a Mazda 2 was seen travelling along a road in South Warrawong around 10.00am this morning before allegedly mounting a kerb and driving along a footpath.
The vehicle is then alleged to have ploughed straight into a tree.

The 66-year-old woman behind the wheel was arrested by officers after returning a positive result to a roadside breath test.
She was taken to the Lake Illawarra Police Station for a breath analysis, which allegedly returned a reading of 0.306.
The woman was issued with a court attendance notice for high-range PCA and is due to face Kiama Local Court on Monday 3 May.
Her licence was also suspended.
