Woman caught drink driving with toddler in the car was ‘four times over the limit’: Police

A WOMAN has been charged and had her licence confiscated after she was allegedly caught driving around drunk with a toddler in her car in Wollongong.

The woman was spotted driving a Nissan X-Trail on Mount Ousley Road in Fairy Meadow around 5.30pm on Saturday.

Police said officers intercepted the vehicle due to the way in which is was being driven.

The 29-year-old woman behind the wheel was arrested after allegedly failing a roadside breath test.

She was taken to Wollongong Police Station where she allegedly returned an official breath analysis reading of 0.202 – four times the legal limit.

The woman’s licence was confiscated and suspended and she was issued a court attendance notice for high-range PCA.

She is due to front Wollongong Local Court on July 17.

Highway patrol officers will allege in court a three-year-old boy was in the back of vehicle.

A child at risk notification was submitted to the Department of Family and Community Services.
