Woman charged after taxi driver allegedly stabbed in the head

A WOMAN has been charged after a taxi driver was allegedly stabbed in the head in Ashfield overnight.

Police say the injured man stumbled into Ashfield Police Station around 10.15pm on Sunday.

It’s alleged a female passenger attempted to rob him before stabbing him in the head at a location nearby.


The 50-year-old was treated by paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a stable condition.

Following investigations, a 24-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Burwood Police Station where she was charged with assault with intent to rob whilst armed with an offensive weapon.

Police say they have established a number of crime scenes as the work to piece together the  circumstances surrounding the incident.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today.
