A woman who allegedly held down a 13-year-old boy while brandishing a knife over his body in Sydney’s west, has been charged with attempted murder.
The dramatic scenes unfolded on a street in South Wentworthville on Wednesday afternoon.
Chilling video uploaded to social media, purports to show the woman pinning the teenage boy to the ground on Centenary Road around 4.45pm.

The 28-year-old woman allegedly threatened to kill the boy while reportedly holding a knife to his throat.
Police were first called to reports of a concern for welfare, but arrived to find the woman crouched over the 13-year-old while brandishing the knife.
Police surrounded the pair, with one officer sneaking up behind the woman and pouncing, grabbing hold of her jumper and dragging her off the victim.
Several other officers ran to assist their brave colleague, taking the woman into custody.
Thankfully, despite being severely traumatised, the boy escaped uninjured.
The woman was taken to Westmead hospital for assessment, before being released back into police custody.
She has since been charged with attempted murder, detain person for advantage and armed with intent to commit indictable offence.
The accused was refused bail and is due to appear at Fairfield Local Court today.
