Woman charged over deadly NSW crash

A woman has been charged following investigations into a deadly crash in NSW earlier this year.

Police said that around “7.30am on Wednesday 15 March, emergency services were called to the intersection of The Lakes Way and Coomba Park Road, Smiths Lake, following reports a Holden Commodore had crashed”.

Despite desperate attempts by emergency crews, a 43-year-old man, who was a passenger in the vehicle, died at the scene.

The driver of the car, a 39-year-old woman, was treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood testing.

Following investigations, the woman was yesterday charged with dangerous driving occasioning death, negligent driving occasioning death, negligent driving, drive with illicit drug present in blood, and use unserviceable vehicle on road.

She had her licence suspended and is due to appear at Forster Local Court on Wednesday 18 October.
