Woman charged after man stabbed repeatedly in violent domestic

A man has been stabbed repeatedly during a violent domestic at a home in the Lake Macquarie area last night.

Police say around 9.30pm, a 32-year-old man and 56-year-old woman become involved in a heated argument at their Warners Bay home when the woman allegedly armed herself with a knife.

The man managed to grab the knife out of the woman’s hand, however he was stabbed in the arm and back with another knife.


Officers say during the violent incident the woman suffered a head wound after being pushed into a refrigerator.

Four children were at home at the time but were not injured.

The woman was arrested at the home and taken to Belmont Police Station where she was charged with reckless wounding and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. She is due to appear at Toronto Local Court today.

The man is receiving treatment at John Hunter Hospital.
