Woman charged with murder after frenzied attack

A woman is accused of going on a violent rampage in Brisbane, which ended in the death of one man and injuries to another four.

Police were called to a boarding house in Kennedy Terrace in Paddington around 10pm on Friday, for reports of a disturbance between a woman and a number of the residents.

They arrived to find four men with varying stab wounds. They were all taken to hospital.

One of the men died as a result of his injuries. The remaining victims all have non-life-threatening injuries.

Police located and arrested the 39-year-old woman at Woolcock Park Ashgrove a short time later.

It is further alleged, a second stabbing had occurred in that area with the man suffering a small wound to his stomach.

The woman is charged with one count of murder, three counts of attempted murder and one count of acts intended to maim.

She is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
