Woman charged over double stabbing in Surfers Paradise

A woman has been charged after two people were allegedly stabbed in Surfers Paradise.

Three people were socialising in Eilen Peters Park along the Esplanade when an argument broke out around 8.30pm.

A 45-year-old Southport woman was stabbed in the chest with a small kitchen knife.

A 48-year-old man was stabbed in the arm.

The pair was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police arrested a 53-year-old woman at the scene before taking her to the Southport Watchhouse.

She has now been charged with two counts of wounding and is expected to appear in Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
