A young woman has been charged over an alleged hoax kidnapping prank in NSW overnight.
The 20-year-old was on a video call with relatives around 10.40pm, when she was handcuffed and appeared to be held against her will by a man.
Police say the woman’s terrified relatives contacted police shortly after the call was terminated.

Officers then launched a frantic search for the woman, who was found at a hotel in Maitland alongside another woman.
She was arrested and taken to Maitland Police Station where she was charged with conveying false information that a person/property is in danger.
The 20-year-old was refused bail to appear at Maitland Local Court today.
Police say they’re still working to track down the man allegedly involved.
He’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, between 160cm to 170cm tall, with a solid build, brown hair and brown eyes.
