Woman charged with racking up more than $10K on stolen credit card
A woman has been charged after a good samaritan had her wallet stolen and more than $10,000 worth of debt racked up on her credit card.
Police said that on Wednesday 19 October, a 63-year-old woman was performing volunteer duties at a Lake Macquarie netball complex when her wallet was stolen.
Before the woman could cancel her credit card, more than $10,000 worth of purchases, were made from various locations in the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie areas.
Following ongoing investigations, police arrested a 25-year-old woman at a home in Nooroo Close Windale.
She was charged with fraud (x30), receiving stolen goods, possessing a prohibited drug and breach of bail.
She is due to appear in Toronto Local Court today.
