A former juvenile justice officer has been charged over the alleged sexual assault of a juvenile inmate in Sydney’s south-west.
The 43-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Padstow Heights about 8.45am today following an ongoing investigation.
Police will allege in court the woman assaulted a juvenile inmate at a detention centre in Airds between 1996 and 1997.

The woman was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where she was charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault.
She was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
Police say investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.
