Woman charged over terrifying axe attack in Sydney

A woman has been charged over a terrifying axe attack on another woman in Penshurst yesterday.

Police said that just after 7.30am , a 50-year-old woman was reversing her car in the driveway of her home on George Street when she was approached by a woman holding an axe.

The armed woman allegedly swung the axe at the car causing the windscreen to break before striking the woman on her arm, causing bruising.


The victim alerted family, who contacted police.

Following investigations, a 46-year-old woman was arrested at a home in Eagle Vale and taken to Macquarie Fields Police Station.

She was charged with reckless wounding and malicious damage to property and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today.
