Woman charged with attempted murder after man stabbed, slashed with knife in frenzied attack

A WOMAN has been charged with attempted murder after allegedly trying to kill a man at a caravan park on the Sunshine Coast.

The 37-year-old allegedly stabbed and slashed the 43-year-old man with a knife multiple times at a caravan park in Kulangoor about 11pm on Thursday.

Upon hearing the man’s screams for help, neighbours intervened and disarmed the woman.


Police were called and rushed to the scene where they arrested the woman.

She was taken to Maroochydore Watchhouse where she was charged with attempted murder and failure to appear offences, police said.

The 37-year-old woman, who police confirmed is known to the man, was expected to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court today.

The man was taken to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital where, despite the horrific nature of the attack, he remains in a stable condition.

Police said incredibly, the man’s injuries are not considered life-threatening.
