Woman charged with murder after man ‘deliberately’ hit by car

A woman has been charged with murder after she allegedly deliberately struck a man with her vehicle in Sydney overnight.

Emergency crews were to the carpark of a unit complex on Hill Road in Wentworth Point around 8.30pm, following reports a man had been pinned between a car and brick wall.

Despite desperate attempts by paramedics and police, the 31-year-old man died at the scene.

The driver, a 44-year-old woman, was arrested and taken to hospital under police guard where she received treatment for a fractured wrist.

Upon her release from hospital, the woman was taken to Auburn Police Station and charged with murder (DV).

“Police will allege in court that the man and woman – who were known to each other – were involved in a verbal altercation, before the woman got in the Toyota and deliberately struck the man, causing fatal injuries,” NSW police said in a statement.

The woman was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Bail Court today.
