Woman charged with shooting partner during terrifying domestic in NSW home

A 41-YEAR-OLD woman has been arrested and charged after allegedly shooting her partner in the back during a terrifying domestic disturbance at a home in the NSW Southern Tablelands early this morning.

Police say they were called to reports of a shooting at the home on the Kings Highway at Bungendore, near Queanbeyan, just before 3am.

On arrival, they found a 40-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his back, allegedly inflicted by the 41-year-old woman.

He was treated at the scene by paramedics before rushed conveyed to Canberra Hospital where he has undergone emergency surgery and remains in a serious, but stable condition.

The woman was arrested at the home and taken to Queanbeyan Police Station where she was charged with discharging a firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and use unauthorised firearm.

She has been refused bail to appear before Queanbeyan Local Court tomorrow.

A crime scene was established at the home and a total of three firearms were secured.

 

Police have confirmed the pair were in a domestic relationship.
