Woman charged with stabbing boyfriend in Christmas domestic

A woman has been charged with stabbing a man, believed to be her boyfriend inside a unit in Sydney’s west overnight.

Police say they were called to reports of a couple fighting inside a unit on Rance Road, Werrington, at around 11.30pm.

On arrival, they found a 28-year-old woman who claimed she had been assaulted.

She was treated for minor injuries by NSW Ambulance Paramedics at the scene.

Officers then went to a home in Emerton where they found a 34-year-old man suffering from a stab wound to his left forearm.

He was taken to Nepean Hospital for treatment but left a short time later.

Police returned to the woman’s home and placed her under arrest.

She was taken to St Marys Police Station where she has since been charged with wounding a person with intentions to cause grievous bodily harm.

She was granted conditional bail to appear in Penrith Local Court on Tuesday 12 January 2016.

Officers are now seeking to speak to the man involved.
