Woman and child injured after stopping to help at scene of Qld crash

A woman is in a critical condition after she was struck by a car whilst pulled over to help out at the scene of an earlier crash at Haigslea in South East Qld.

Police said the woman, who also had a child in the car, pulled over on the Warrego Highway to render assistance when her ute was struck from behind by another car.

The woman sustained serious head injuries and was rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a critical condition.


The child was transported to Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Traffic diversions remain in place at the scene with motorists urged to avoid the area.

Investigations are ongoing.
