Woman and child seriously injured after car, truck collide on NSW highway

A WOMAN and child have been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after the car they were in collided with a truck on a highway in Central West NSW.

The vehicles came to grief on the Mitchell Highway near Amaroo Road, just outside the small town of Molong, around 3.15pm on Thursday.

Three people travelling in the car were trapped in the wreckage and needed to be released by emergency services.


A woman and male child from the vehicle have been airlifted to a hospital in Sydney for treatment.

They are both believed to have sustained serious injuries in the collision.

Two other people who were travelling in the car were treated by paramedics at the scene before being transported to the local hospital.

It’s understood the driver of the truck escaped the collision uninjured.
