Woman critical after being hit by car in alleged road rage attack

A woman is in a critical condition after allegedly being deliberately run down by car in a horror road rage attack in Dubbo.

Emergency crews were called to Cobra Street, near the intersection of Brigalow Avenue, just before 11.00am yesterday following reports a woman had been struck by a vehicle that failed to stop.

Officers were told three cars, including a Holden Commodore, Toyota Prado and Kia Rio, pulled to the side of the road with the drivers becoming involved in a verbal altercation.


“Police will allege the Holden driver, a 43-year-old woman, returned to her vehicle and drove at the Toyota driver, a 41-year-old woman, who was standing on the road, before driving away,” NSW police said.

The injured woman was treated at the scene by paramedics before being airlifted to Westmead Hospital, where she remains fighting for life.

Following investigations into the incident, police arrested the 43-year-old woman at Dubbo Police Station just after 11.00am this morning.

She was charged with cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent and fail to stop and assist after vehicle impact causing grievous bodily harm.

The woman was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today.
