Woman critical after being hit by school bus

A WOMAN is in a critical condition after being hit by a private school bus in Sydney.

The bus was on its afternoon run with about ten children, aged 10-13, on board when the accident happened on New South Head Road at Double Bay around 4pm.

The 30-year-old woman was treated at the scene by paramedics for serious head and chest injuries before being rushed to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition.


The children managed to escape uninjured, whilst the bus driver was treated for shock.

He was then taken to hospital for mandatory blood and urine tests.

Forensic specialists will examine the scene, with police urging any witnesses to come forward.
