Qld woman dies after trying to break up fight between two men at pub

UPDATE: The woman who was seriously injured during an incident in Aramac on Saturday night has died in hospital from her injuries.

Around 9:15pm on Saturday July 11, two men were involved in a physical altercation in front of the hotel on Gordon Street, Aramac.

A 55-year-old woman attempted to intervene and was seriously injured as a result.

The woman was transported to the Barcaldine Hospital with life threatening head injuries and subsequently flown to Townsville.

Police are appealing for anyone who has any information in relation to the incident to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

EARLIER: A WOMAN is in a critical condition after trying to break up a fight outside a pub in outback Queensland.

The woman suffered serious head injuries when she tried to intervene in a fight between two men at the Aramac Hotel on Saturday night.

The 55-year-old was rushed to Townsville Hospital where she remains in a serious condition.

Witnesses are being urged to contact police.
