Woman critical after being hit by heavy machine in shocking hit and run

A young woman is in a critical condition after allegedly being hit by a heavy machine in a hit and run at Bowen Hills in the early hours of this morning.

Police said that around 1.00am, officers were called to the intersection of Hamilton Place and Campbell Street after a woman was found on the road with significant injuries.

The 27-year-old woman was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital where she underwent emergency surgery this morning and remains in a critical condition.


After reviewing CCTV in the area, investigators from the Forensic Crash Unit believe the woman was struck by a heavy vehicle, like the one pictured below:

They are appealing for anyone who may have seen the distinctive vehicle or has dash cam footage in the Bowen Hills area overnight to contact police.

A 58-year-old man is currently assisting police with their inquiries.
