Woman critical after her and her husband run over in Sydney’s west

A woman is in a critical condition with head and spinal injuries after her and her husband her were struck by a car in Sydney’s west.

Police said the couple had stepped out in front of a BMW sedan travelling east on Hall Street at Auburn at around 7.30pm on Wednesday.

The 68-year-old woman suffered head lacerations, broken ribs, spinal injuries and multiple fractures.


The 70-year-old man, believed to be the woman’s husband, suffered less serious facial injuries and bruising.

They were both taken to Westmead Hospital, where they remain.

The woman is in a critical but stable condition.

The driver of the BMW, a 54-year-old man, stopped and rendered assistance after the collision.

He is assisting police with their inquiries.
