Woman critical, pregnant mother and son hurt following early morning Sydney crash

A WOMAN has been airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries following a serious three-car crash at Austral, in Sydney’s south-west this morning.

The three vehicles collided on Fifteenth Avenue, between Fourth and Herley Avenue’s, just before 8.30am.

A woman travelling in a westbound vehicle has been airlifted to Liverpool Hospital suffering life-threatening injuries, while a pregnant woman and her five-year-old son travelling in an eastbound vehicle were also flown to Westmead Hospital with less serious injuries.

A woman and her 12-year-old son travelling in a second westbound vehicle escaped unhurt.

The road remains closed while officers from the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit examine the scene.
