A WOMAN is fighting to stay alive in hospital after jumping out of a man’s moving car at Hervey Bay.
Police said the incident happened as the vehicle travelled west on Gilston Road around 5.30am on Sunday.
The 32-year-old was a passenger in the car, which was being driven by a 41-year-old man known to her.

Police said for reasons unknown, the woman leaped from the vehicle as it approached Rosedale Street.
The woman was subsequently run over by the vehicle, suffering serious spinal and head injuries.
She was rushed to the Hervey Bay Hospital where she remains this afternoon in a critical condition.
The 41-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the car is “assisting police with their inquiries”.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Anyone with any information that could assist with the investigation is urged to come forward.
