Woman critically injured in Lakemba crash

A WOMAN is fighting to stay alive in hospital after losing control of her car and crashing on a busy street in Sydney’s south-west.

Police were called to the scene of the crash on Haldon Street in Lakemba around 6.20am on Friday.

Emergency services arrived to find a blue Mazda had crashed into two parked cars.

The driver, a 68-year-old woman, sustained life-threatening injuries.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to Prince of Wales Hospital where police say she remains this evening in a critical condition.

She was the only person travelling in the car. No one else was injured.
