Woman critically hurt in crash on NSW highway

A WOMAN has been flown to hospital with life-threatening injuries after he car left a highway and slammed into a tree in Central West NSW.

Police say the 31-year-old woman was heading towards Bathurst along the Mitchell Highway on Friday when, just after 4.30pm, her Hyundai Excel failed to negotiate a left-hand bend and hit a tree at Vittoria.


The woman was trapped in the wreckage for sometime before emergency services could cut her free.

She was flown to Canberra Hospital where this morning she remained in a critical condition.

Any witnesses who have not yet spoken to police are urged to come forward and contact Crime Stoppers.
