Woman detained after sparking panic mid-flight

A woman has been attested in the U.S after trying to open the exit door during a flight from London to Boston.

The British Airways flight landed at Boston Logan Airport at around 1.30 pm (0530 AEDT) following a six and a half hour journey from London Heathrow.

Massachusetts State Police said on Tuesday they met the Boeing 777 to arrest the 30-year-old woman, who tried to open the exit door while intoxicated.

On twitter, the police said there was no known connection to terrorism and the woman will face charges over the incident.

In a statement, British Airways said: “We do not tolerate abusive behaviour.”

The incident comes with British and US authorities on heightened alert after the deadly Paris terror attacks last Friday.
