Woman dies after being hit by car

A WOMAN has sadly died in hospital, three days after she was hit by a car on Bribie Island.

The 76-year-old woman was struck by a dual cab ute on Seaside Drive on Monday afternoon.

Police say the elderly woman was attempting to cross the road when she was hit.


The woman was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Woman’e Hospital in a critical condition.

Sadly, her injuries were too severe and police confirmed she passed away early this morning.

The 56-year-old driver of the utility was not physically injured.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.

Police are appealing for any witness to the crash, or anyone who may have seen the lady walking prior to the crash to come forward and call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
