A woman has died after crashing her car into a tree in Ilford, south of Mudgee.
About 3.10pm Wednesday 9 December, emergency services were called to Castlereagh Highway, about 3km south of the intersection of Sofala Road, following reports of a crash.
Initial investigations suggest a Holden Astra was travelling south on Castlereagh Highway, when it left the roadway and crashed into a tree.

The driver, a 54-year-old Mudgee woman, was treated at the scene by Ambulance Paramedics before being taken by helicopter to Westmead Hospital, where she later died.
No one else was injured during the incident.
A crime scene was established and investigations into the crash are continuing.
A report will be prepared for the information for the information of the Coroner.
