Woman dies in hospital following two car crash in Ballarat, Victoria

A woman has died in hospital following a two car crash in Ballarat, Victoria earlier this month.

The 87-year-old woman’s vehicle was struck by another car on Walker Street at around 11.45am on 4 May.

Police said the woman was attempting to perform a U-turn when her vehicle was struck by a yellow Toyota.

The elderly woman had to be cut out of the mangled wreck. She was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

Sadly, she succumbed to her injuries and police confirmed in a statement today that she passed away in hospital on 16 May.

The 64-year-old female driver of the yellow Toyota escaped the crash with only minor injuries.

Detectives are still trying to determine the exact cause of the collision.
