Woman dies after near drowning at Coffs Harbour
A WOMAN has died after coming into trouble in the water on the NSW north coast.
Police said about 5.40pm yesterday, a family of five were at Diggers Beach in Coffs Harbour, when they became caught in a strong current.
Other people at the beach managed to assist the family back to shore, however a 49-year-old woman from the family became unconscious.
Emergency services desperately tried to resuscitate the woman, a UK National, before she was taken to hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
Police are now investigating the incident.
