Woman ejected from car in horror crash

A GROUP of bystanders are being hailed as heroes today after lifting a car off a woman who was ejected from her vehicle and run over following a horror crash in Sydney’s north.

The woman was catapulted through the front passenger window of a Honda Accord after police say it was T-boned by a Toyota Camry on Lane Cove Road at Macquarie Park about 12.40am on Friday.

It’s understood the Honda then accidentally drove over the woman, trapping her underneath.

Several witnesses who stopped to help miraculously managed to lift the vehicle off the woman.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene before being rushed Sydney’s Royal North Shore Hospital in  a critical condition.

The man driving the Honda and his second female passenger escaped unhurt while the driver of the Toyota and his passenger sustained “non-life-threatening injuries”, police said.

Crash Investigation Unit officers are investigating the circumstances leading up to the crash.
