A YOUNG woman has been left shaking and “extremely distressed” after she was allegedly pinned down and sexually assaulted by a man twice her age at a beach on Queensland’s Central Coast.
It happened while the woman aged in her 20s was sun-baking at Lamberts Beach in the northern Mackay suburb of Slade Point around 1pm on Thursday.
Police said the woman was lying down when a bald man with a “pot belly” laid down on top of her.

“The woman struggled as the man was grabbing at her, causing him to flee,” police said in a statement.
Although the woman was not physically injured, police said the incident left her “extremely distressed”.
Police have appealed for help from the public to help find her attacker, who was seen leaving the scene in an early model Holden Commodore, possibly grey or silver in colour.
The man is described as being Pacific Islander in appearance, aged in his 40s, bald and approximately 170cms tall with a chubby build and dark complexion.
He was allegedly wearing a dark coloured singlet and shorts at the time.
Detectives would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident, including anyone visiting Lamberts Lookout which has a view of the beach where the assault occurred.
Police believe members of the public may have mobile phone recordings that could assist with their investigations and are urging anyone with these to contact police as soon as possible.
