Woman fighting for life after being attacked with a nail gun in Sydney

UPDATE @ 12.30PM: Police have now charged a man after a woman was left fighting for life after allegedly being attacked with a nail gun in Sydney’s west.

The 50-year-old remains in a critical condition in hospital following a domestic-related incident at a home on Messina Crescent in Bonyrigg Heights around 10.30pm on Tuesday night.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in nearby Northumberland St around 3.40am on Wednesday morning and taken to Fairfield Police Station.


He’s since been charged with cause wounding/grievous bodily harm to person with intent to murder.

The man was refused bail and will front the Parramatta Bail Court on Thursday.

EARLIER @ 6.00AM: A woman is fighting for life in hospital after allegedly being attacked with a nail gun in a domestic incident in Sydney’s west.

Police were called to Messina Crescent, Bonnyrigg Heights around 10.30pm on Tuesday after a 50-year-old woman and a 20-year-old man became involved in an altercation.

The woman was allegedly struck several times in the with with projectiles from a nail gun.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics for lacerations to her face, before she was taken to Liverpool Hospital where she remains undergoing surgery in a critical condition.

A man was also treated at the scene for shock.

The 20-year-old man fled the scene but was arrested several hours later in Bonnyrigg Heights.

He’s currently being questioned by detectives.
