Woman found abandoned in apartment stairwell with life-threatening injuries

A MAN has been arrested and charged with grievous bodily harm after a woman was found abandoned with life-threatening injuries in the stairwell of an apartment building in Perth.

The woman, a Pakistani national studying in Perth from the United States, was found unconscious in the stairwell of an apartment block on Murray Street just after 2am on Saturday.

She was treated at the scene by paramedics before being rushed to the Royal Perth Hospital where she remains this afternoon in a critical condition with life-threatening injuries.


After examining the crime scene, police raided an address on Dundas Road at Inglewood where they arrested a 27-year-old man.

He has since been charged with one count of grievous bodily harm and was remanded in custody to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.

Contact has been made with the injured woman’s family overseas and they are now traveling to Perth.
