A major investigation is underway after a woman died in police custody on Thursday morning.
Queensland Police confirmed the 49-year-old was found dead in her cell at the Brisbane City Watchhouse on Thursday.
She had been arrested for property and drug matters on Sunday morning and appeared in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday where she was remanded in custody until October 7.

Police say the woman was being held in the watchhouse pending a transfer to a correctional facility.
“While the circumstances of the death are to be determined, the investigation will include consideration of any underlying health conditions,” Qld police said in a statement.
“Cultural support is being provided by Murri Watch with representatives visiting the watchhouse this morning.”
Police from the Ethical Standards Command are investigating the death, while the matter is being overviewed by the Office of the State Coroner and the Crime and Corruption Commission.
