Woman found dead in Sydney home was heavily pregnant

UPDATE: IT has been revealed that the woman stabbed to death in her Mount Druitt home this morning was heavily pregnant.

Shortly after midnight, emergency services were called to a home on Chester Street, where they located the woman in her 30s with multiple stab wounds.

Her 38-year-old partner handed himself into Mount Druitt Police Station, suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

He was arrested and was taken to Nepean Hospital where he is currently under police guard and assisting with inquiries.

EARLIER: A man is under police guard at hospital and is expected to be charged, after the body of a woman was found in a home in Mount Druitt this morning.

Shortly after midnight, emergency services were called to a home on Chester Street, where they located the body of a woman within the home.

The woman, who is yet to be formally identified, is believed to be aged in her 30s.

A crime scene has been established and the woman’s death is being treated as suspicious.

A short time later, a 38-year-old man handed himself into Mount Druitt Police Station, suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

He was arrested and was taken to Nepean Hospital where he is currently under police guard and assisting with inquiries.

It is believed that the man and woman were known to each other.

Investigations into the incident are continuing and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
