Man assisting police after woman found dead on Worongary road
UPDATE @ 1.00pm: POLICE have confirmed that a man is assisting detectives with investigations after a woman was found dead on a road in Worongary overnight.
The 51-year-old woman’s body was found by a neighbour, who was returning home from a late night work shift, on Arthur Payne Court around 11.15pm on Sunday.
Gold Coast Police Detective Inspector Marc Hogan said the mother of three died as a result of a head trauma.
A 55-year-old man was found in nearby bushland suffering minor injuries.
He is currently assisting police with their enquiries.

EARLIER @ 4.00am: POLICE have set up a crime scene on a Worongary road after a woman was found dead on Sunday night.
A member of the public found the woman, who had suffered fatal injuries, on Arthur Payne Court around 11.15pm.
The 51-year-old was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death, which is being treated as suspicious.
