Woman found with life-threatening injuries after domestic violence attack

A WOMAN has sustained life-threatening injuries in a violent domestic violence-related incident in Adelaide’s south.

Emergency services were called to a house in Davenport Terrace at Seacliff Park just before midday following reports that a woman had been seriously assaulted, allegedly by a man known to her.

Police and paramedics rushed to the address where they found a 59-year-old woman with life-threatening injuries.

The woman, who lives at the address, was rushed to the Flinders Medical Centre. Her current condition is not known.

A 33-year-old man who police said is known to the victim was arrested near the Seacliff Yacht Club a short time later.

He is accused of attacking the woman at the Davenport Terrace home and fleeing before police arrived.

The man from Old Noarlunga was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital under police guard for a medical assessment.

Police say he is expected to face serious assault charges once he is released.
