A MAN has been charged with glassing his partner in the face, causing her to almost bleed to death, as she shielded their three-year-old child from a terrifying domestic overnight.
Police say the violent scenes unfolded shortly after the couple returned to their Fourth Street home in Lack Macquarie about 11.30pm on Saturday.
It’s understood an argument broke out as the 30-year-old mother went to bed, taking the couple’s three-year-old child with her.

During the argument, it’s alleged the 38-year-old man struck the woman on the left side of her face with a glass, causing a severe laceration.
She suffered significant blood loss and was rushed to the John Hunter Hospital by ambulance where underwent emergency surgery.
Her partner was arrested and taken to Toronto Police Station where he was charged with wounding with the intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Bail Court today.
