Woman hit and killed by car at Brisbane intersection

A WOMAN has died after being hit by a vehicle in Chelmer.

Emergency crews rushed to the intersection of Honour Avenue and Bridge Street around 7.00am this morning after receiving reports a pedestrian had been struck by a utility.

A 33-year-old woman suffered critical injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

She was then rushed to the Princess Alexandra Hospital where she sadly passed away a short time later.

The driver of the utility managed to escape unharmed.

The Forensic Crash Unit is now investigating.
