Woman hit and killed by car while cycling with friends in Sydney
A WOMAN has died after being hit by a car while cycling through Sydney’s North Shore with a group of friends this morning.
Police said the small group of cyclists were travelling south along Mona Vale Road at Kuring-gai around 10am when a Toyota Corolla sedan travelling north struck the 33-year-old female rider at the intersection of Woodlands Ave.
The woman was seriously injured and sadly died at the scene. The other riders were not injured.
The 37-year-old male driver of the car will undergo mandatory drug and alcohol testing.
A crime scene was established and examined by the Crash Investigation Unit.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the crash are continuing.
