Woman hospitalised after suffering medical incident on Gold Coast beach

A woman’s recovering in hospital this morning, after suffering a medical incident on the beach in Surfers Paradise yesterday.

Paramedics were called to the beach near Northcliffe Terrace and Clifford Street around 4.00pm, where lifeguards were trying to help the woman.

The woman – believed to be in her 20s – was treated briefly at the scene before being rushed to hospital with critical care paramedics on board.

She’s believed to be in a stable condition at the Gold Coast University Hospital.

A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed to myGC that the incident had initially been reported as a near drowning, but that report was incorrect.
