Woman hospitalised with severe leg injury after being run over in Sydney

A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital with a severe leg injury after she was run over by a car in Sydney.

The woman aged in her early 40s was struck on Leylands Parade at Belmore, in the city’s southwest shortly after 1pm on Wednesday.

She was treated by paramedics at the scene for a serious leg injury before being taken to St George Hospital where she remains this evening, in a stable condition.

The driver of the Toyota Seca, a man aged in his 60s, and his male passenger escaped uninjured.

Officers from the Forensic Crash Investigation Unit examined the scene and investigations into the circumstances the collision are continuing.

Police would like to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash – they are especially interested in speaking to anyone with dash cam vision of the incident.
