Investigations underway after two injured in horror crash at Tamborine
UPDATE @ March 27, 6.30 AM | THE Forensic Crash Unit is investigating after two people were seriously injured in a crash at Tamborine on Monday.
The accident happened on Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road just after 12.15pm.
Police said a van was travelling south-west when it crossed over the centre line and collided head-on with a hatchback.
A truck that was travelling behind the hatchback then collided with the rear of the car.
The driver of the hatchback, a 55-year-old woman, was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition.
The driver of the van, a 19-year-old man, was transported to Logan Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver of the truck managed to escape unharmed.
Investigations are continuing.
EARLIER @ March 26, 2.50pm: A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after a multi-vehicle crash at Tamborine today.
The accident, involving three vehicles, happened on Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road just before 12.30pm.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesperson confirmed eight crews were called to the scene.
A woman, whose age is not known, was treated by paramedics for significant leg injuries before being taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition with the High Acuity Response Unit on board.
A male in his late teens was also injured in the crash. He has since been taken to Logan hospital for treatment of an ankle injury and abdominal bruising.
A third person was assessed at the scene, however did not require transport to hospital.
Beaudesert-Beenleigh Road at Tamborine remains closed in both directions as investigations continue.
