A woman, aged in her late 40’s, has been transferred to the Gold Coast University Hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a ute.
Police closed parts of High Street in Southport from 6:30pm until just after 7pm.
The woman was attempting to cross the road just after 6pm when she was hit by a large, dark coloured ute.

She has extremely serious leg injuries and has suffered wounds to her head.
Police and Ambulances were at the scene within 10 minutes of the incident.
The driver of the car was questioned by police and breathalyzed, but no further information is currently available.
